2. What data the app processes
Everything you enter in GemDot – habits, progress, daily check-ins (feeling and word), gems of the week with notes and photos of the day – is stored by the app only locally on your device. There are no Dom Realm servers and no syncing over the internet. I have no access to your entries.
3. Photos
For the “Photo of the Day”, GemDot uses the iOS photo picker. The app only sees the pictures you choose yourself and stores a copy locally in the app. It does not access your whole photo library.
4. Notifications
Reminders for your check-in and habits are scheduled on the device. You can turn them off at any time in the app or in the iOS settings.
5. Export
You can export your data as a JSON file. Where you save the file or who you share it with is entirely up to you, via the iOS share sheet.
6. In-app purchases
GemDot Pro (subscription or one-time purchase) is handled through Apple’s App Store. I receive no payment or personal data; the app only learns whether Pro is unlocked. Apple’s Privacy Policy and the Standard License Agreement (EULA) apply.
7. Crash reports
If you allow sharing analytics with app developers in the iOS settings, Apple provides me with anonymised crash reports. You control this under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
8. Deletion
In the app, More → Your Data → “Delete All Data” removes all entries. Deleting the app removes all local data.
9. Your rights
Since I receive no personal data from the app, I hold no data about you. If you have questions, just write to me. Your rights under Art. 15–21 and 77 GDPR remain unaffected; the competent supervisory authority is Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg), Heilbronner Straße 35, 70191 Stuttgart; Kontakt und Beschwerden (contact and complaints).
10. Changes
If the app’s features change, I will update this policy. The date above shows the current version.
